We frequently see open ulcerations or wounds in our office especially in diabetic patients. Many of these are caused by an underlying boney pressure point.

About the Procedure

At Lexington Podiatry we are able to evaluate you for the underlying cause of your ulcer and determine necessary procedures to rid your foot of the pressure points. Some of these procedures may be done in office, under a local numbing agent.

After we have rid your foot of pressure, we are able to determine the need for a skin graft, to help you heal more quickly. This is also done in office.

We have a fellowship trained, board certified wound care doctor on staff, Dr. Amy Barko, who is able to get you the best care for your ulcerations.
