We frequently see infections in the foot due in many of our patients. Whether it is due to stepping on a sharp object, or an infected foreign body, we've got you covered.
About the Procedure
We can perform a procedure called an incision and drainage. This involves using a local numbing agent to numb the area, then opening the area to allow the infection to drain out. We can perform the majority of these procedures in office. It is important to have a foot infection evaluated promptly because many of them require antibiotics in order to rid the area of bacteria.
If you have redness, drainage, or have recently stepped on a sharp object, be sure to call and schedule an evaluation with Dr. Barko.
