So you've dropped something heavy on your toe and it still hurts after a few days. Or maybe you just stubbed it really badly.

If the pain doesn't subside, if it swells and starts bruising, or if it hurts to walk or put on shoes, you probably have a broken toe that needs to be treated to heel properly.

We can get urgent patients in same day.

At Your Visit

When you come to our office, we'll do a thorough physical examination of the foot and toe. If we suspect a break, we'll take an X-ray to see the extent of the damage and position of the break.

Buddy Taping: Then your broken toe will need to be immobilized so it can heal properly, which isn't easy to do since our toes are in constant use.

If it's one of the smaller toes and the fracture isn't too severe, we might be able to tape it to its next door neighbor to hold it steady. We call this "buddy taping".

But when it's the big toe or a serious break, it needs special treatment such as a cast. Sometimes we might need to adjust the bones so they're properly aligned to heal.

Broken toes often take a month to six weeks to heal properly. During that time, we'll also recommend certain types of pain relievers to get you through any rough spots.

Sometimes, with trauma to the toenails, the nail may have to come off. Luckily, this is not as painful as it sounds.

At Home Treatment

1. To ease the pain and reduce inflammation soak your feet daily in RELAX. The lemongrass will soothe aching joints and minimize down time.

2. After you've patted the area dry, apply our super potent CBD stick, SOOTHE. Or our CBD-FREE pain-relieving ointment, RECOVER. Both will offer a refreshing sensation while erasing away your pain.
