Lexington Podiatry offers platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy as a regenerative therapy to heal chronic foot and ankle issues. PRP uses your own concentrated blood platelets to heal injuries and conditions like plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendinitis.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) uses concentrated platelets from your own blood to accelerate the body's natural healing of damaged tendons, ligaments, and joints in the foot.


By delivering a high dose of growth factors to injured areas, it reduces pain, stimulates tissue repair, and helps patients avoid surgery.

A small amount of your blood is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to separate the plasma, which then leaves us with highly concentrated platelets. This concentrated plasma is injected directly into the site of the foot or ankle injury, prompting a targeted healing response.

We typically use PRP to treat chronic, stubborn soft-tissue conditions and joint issues that have not responded to conservative treatments like physical therapy or orthotics.
