Casey has worked as a registered nurse in open heart recovery/cardiovascular intensive care, neurological intensive care, labor and delivery, and in post-anesthesia care.
Casey earned her Master’s of Science in Nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University.
In 2013 during the beginning of her nurse practitioner program, she was diagnosed with atypical carcinoid lung cancer; a very rare lung cancer diagnosis that shocked her since she had never smoked. After 2 extensive surgeries, the last in May 2013, she lost her right lung and became cancer-free. Casey celebrated her third “Lungaversary” this year.
Because of her close call with cancer, Casey can relate to the struggles of many of our patients. She understands how it feels to when your disease or affliction takes over your life and has special compassion for those going through tough times.
